The HS model is Joe's modern interpretation of the Puukko knives that were used by the Finnish military in "The Winter War" against the Soviets in 1939. It is of full tang construction with modern materials, a handle that fills the hand with enough of a guard but not so much that it is obstructive or a serious snag point- the design really can serve as a utility knife or combative one, just as the issued ones were meant to be.
-.130 thick CPM154, slightly convex ground at 3/4 height. Spine corners are left square for scraping. The blade finish is a polished bright satin with some reflectivity. It is not a museum mirror polish, but one that is smooth and slick to further enhance corrosion resistance and decrease cutting friction. The spine corners are sharp for scraping tasks. Approximately 9.5" overall and 5" blade. Handle is thick olive drab green micarta with palm and pommel flares. Fully rounded and domed for ergonomic function. Includes Tracker Dan sheath in field tan color
